Musical Rewards w/ Regan Stewart

Featuring

Fresh voice in the Country scene Regan Stewart talks to us about what inspires her, what she’s working on now and some bonus fun facts about her.

Regan StewartSB (StarBeat): Inspire Me: What artists inspired you growing up?

RS (Regan Stewart): Growing up, I loved the Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flatts. I tell people, I probably spent every dime I made babysitting buying every track they ever released. Also, my mom was really into Christian music and my dad was more into Country/Soul.

So, my playlists would be all over the map: Steven Curtis Chapman, The Commodores, Brooks and Dunn, Reba, Kirk Franklin, etc.

SB: Top Hits: What couple tracks do you have on repeat at the moment?

RS: My new favorite car jams are Stupid Love by Dan and Shay, If I Know Me by Morgan Wallen, Chesney by Steve Moakler, and Over and Over by Ben Rector. I have literally listened to it over and over haha.

SB: Planner: What can we hope to see from you in the next couple months with your music?

RS: I am so excited about the next couple of months! July 20th, I will be releasing my first single! To follow that, I have an awesome video in the works, and then just planning on getting out as much music as possible. I have been working on music for a while now and have never released anything. This is kind of an introduction to me. Meet: Regan.

SB: Sound Alike: What/Whom do people say you sound like?

RS: One day while recording some new songs, my producer said I sounded like Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, and Kacey Musgraves had a baby. I loved that.

SB: Bonus: What are some interesting things that we should know about you?

RS: I love to go thrift store shopping. It is a relaxing thing to me, and I love to mix and match outfits.
I am obsessed with chips and salsa. Literally, if it is in front of me, I can not resist. I am all in.
I love paper. I know, it is a weird thing to love. I love making lists, and crossing things off. Writing is just something I have always loved growing up. So, I can not pass up a good notebook or pad of really cute paper/post cards/letters. I love it all!
