Rising Stars: Sunny Andjic (Model-Actor-Host)

SB (StarBeat): Sunny, tell us everything about you in 3 sentences?

SA (Sunny Andjic): I believe that everything happens for a reason. I practice hot yoga religiously. I am always up for new challenges and adventures!

SB: I see! Ok… Well, let’s see how you get out of this one.

SB: What are your thoughts on this coming from a person that was regarded as not that great looking?

SA: When I think of Andy Warhol, I think eccentric! I love his style and exuberance. His mind and his art were a sign of his beauty. Andy’s perception of beauty was translated into beautiful art. And, if his art was a reflection of his mind, then, to me, he is an absolute geniu

SB: (Darn) I see!… Ok then, who’s your role model?

SA: This may sound cliche, but I am going to go with Beyonce! I’ve listened to her music from a young age and continue to enjoy it today. She is strong, independent and powerful. Beyonce’s music is extremely influential; inspiring young girls worldwide to respect and accept themselves. I truly admire her hard work, talent and success!

SB: Let’s get serious for a moment. What food or cuisine gets your pulse racing?

SA: Hot wings. Inferno hot!

SB: Tell us something about yourself that no one would be able to guess just from looking at you? (More than one, if you like.)

SA: I am a nerd at heart! I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.A. in Psychology. I also specialized in Human Resources at Simon Fraser University. I spent most of those years studying as I just had to have perfect grades! :B

SB: How about any other accomplishments and interests?

SA: I was a contestant in the 2014 Miss World Canada Pageant. The organization has a strong affiliation with Variety, the Children’s Charity. They help raise funds for children with disabilities.

The cause further inspired me to organize my own fundraiser and later to volunteer at BC Children’s Hospital. Children hold a special place in my heart. They deserve proper nurturing, education and unconditional love and support. After all, the children are the future.

SB: I see you are really working the role model angle. How about this: You’re stranded on a deserted island with only three things you can rescue from your capsized boat. What are you bringing with you?
